Old Green Eyes

£18.00

A comorant watches me from a cliff on the Farne Islands during a visit in 2009.

The Farne Islands are home to a spectacular array of sea birds with 23 species flocking to the site each year.  From gannets to terns, puffins to comorants, it’s an amazing place and a must for anyone hoping for a close up encounter.  I was visiting a friend who was working there during the summer and snapping away as he happily pointed out the different species and spoke of the conservation efforts for each.  This green-eyed beauty waited patiently in his nest on the edge of a cliff while I took it’s portrait in the afternoon light.
